Reconstruction of Kanazawa Castle

Ishikawa Prefecture has been continuously carrying out the restoration and reconstruction of Kanazawa Castle since 2001, beginning with the reconstruction of the Hishi Yagura Turret, the Gojikken Nagaya Storehouse, and the Hashizume-mon Tsuzuki Yagura Turret.

In these projects, the castle is being restored to reflect its appearance in the late Edo period, ensuring consistency with existing historic structures such as Ishikawa-mon Gate and the Sanjikken Nagaya Storehouse. The reconstruction work respects historical facts and is based on thorough cultural property research and investigations.

Currently, restoration work is underway to reconstruct the Ninomaru Palace, which once served as the central complex of the castle.
